Agadhbodh Foundation with support of Khethworks has launched a new initiative to help the small scale farmers by providing them with portable micro solar pumps. Irregular rainfall, dearth of water, shrinking water resources pose a huge challenge to the farmers who need regular water supply for irrigation. To tackle this problem, Agadhbodh Foundation has introduced a solar pump that can give up to 35000 liters water per day. The pump is very easy to install and is extremely efficient. Moreover it has no dependency on electricity or fuel pump thus making it more convenient to use.
It can be easily carried home and reinstalled anytime thus saving the risk of theft or loss. It is ecofriendly as it doesn’t let the water table go down and uses open water sources for water supply. The farmers can grow cash crops with ease without worrying about the shortage of water. This also will prevent their migration in search of jobs as a result of failing agricultural produce. Agadhbodh Foundation is enabling the availability of these solar pumps at subsidized rates for the farmers.
